Comedy search: Channel 4, alongside BBC, MTV, SKY, ITV have teamed up with the Cultural Diversity Network to try and uncover the best under-represented comedy talent from around the UK. We are searching for an alternative stand-up comedy talent to be featured at the Diversity Awards, which will be held at the Royal Opera House on the 29th of November 2010. The search will give shortlisted finalists the opportunity to perform at Channel 4 on 30th September to an audience of industry experts.The judges are looking for a talented stand- up comedian whose comedy best reflects the diversity of modern Britain. When I got my computer back yesterday, one of the emails waiting for me was from the National Centre in Physical Activity and Disability. We shall have something to aim for when the IceCube comes back next year:
"With the 20th anniversary of the ADA last month, it was a perfect time to set a new world record. The Los Angeles wheelchair community and the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation collaborated to set the New Guinness World Record for the most wheelchairs in a moving line, a total of 193 wheelchairs. The celebration also included food, fun, and prizes. The milestone created a wonderful opportunity for the disability community and organizations to come together socially."
