Sickness

It has come to our attention that many organisations are not notifying us of sicknesses for their employees. You may not be aware that SSP may be paid if eligible, for employees who are absent for more than 4 days. This may be recovered depending on a percentage of the total employee and employers national insurance.

Employees may self-certificate themselves for the first week on either:

• Your own Sickness Form,
• On the form we provide (available in the Amendment Pack above)
• On an SSP1 Form

A ‘statement of fitness note' from the doctor is required on the 8th day.
