As Executive Director of Groundwork in Leeds Adrian is responsible for all aspects of the Trust's performance. Groundwork delivers a diverse range of services including professional landscape design, community engagement and consultation, foundation learning, environmental business consultancy and training/landscape contracting. As well as delivering services in Leeds they trade in Bradford, Calderdale and Kirklees.
Groundwork in an environmentally focussed regeneration charity that helps people and organisations make changes in order to create better neighbourhoods, to build skills and job prospects and to live and work in a greener way. Groundwork Leeds currently employs 66 staff and has a turnover of £4m.
Adrian trained as an accountant and worked in local authorities before joining Groundwork. Building upon my professional financial skills I have developed programme and partnership development and management skills.
Adrian was born and grew up in Keighley before spending three years at University in York followed by three years working for the London Borough of Ealing where he trained as an accountant. After qualification Adrain worked for Leeds City Council in a variety of central and departmental finance roles before joining Groundwork in 1996. Within Groundwork he progressed from Finance Manager to Operations Director, Managing Director of the trading subsidiary and became Executive Director in 2002.
