Voluntary Action-Leeds
Research

In January 2000 VA-L's first research project was established. Our research is essential to provide good information on the work of the voluntary sector and is used by voluntary and community organisations as an important tool in forming key partnerships and encouraging new developments in the city.

Our Voluntary and Community Sector Research Project's first task was to explore the overall contribution made by voluntary organisations working in the field of health and social care in Leeds. This involved a survey of 367 organisations, which was carried out during the spring summer of 2000.

The project's first research report was published in December 2000. The report highlights the contribution of voluntary organisations working in this field and explores some of the key benefits they bring to the area.
