Below are organisations in Leeds who are already taking part:

 

Belle lsle Family Centre - Community group in Belle Isle, who are working together to set up a Family Centre.

Behind Closed Doors - Domestic abuse project for Otley, Aireborough and District

Bramhope and Carlton Parish Council - This site has been set up to give residents and visitors information about the village, its amenities and useful contacts.

Care and Repair Leeds - Helping low waged and older and disabled home owners to live in warm, secure and adapted homes.

Connect in the North - Person centred approaches to training, consultancy and research

The Courthouse Project - a unique development, run by local people, in Otley West Yorkshire. The aim is to transform a redundant nineteenth century magistrates court into a unique 'arts and resource centre' for the community.

The Cupboard Project - Provide individual support for young people including, drop in sessions, in and around Leeds10.

Faith Together in Leeds 11 - A registered Charity involved in urban regeneration in Leeds 11. It is a unique multi-faith partnership between Muslim organisations, Christian churches and community groups from the area.

Genesis Project Leeds - Support, advocacy and information for Working Women.

Gipton Supported Independent Living Project - Aims to provide accommodation to single 16 to 25 year olds who are homeless or near homeless.

HALT Domestic Violence - Provides help and confidential service to women experiencing violence.

Headingley Deanery - Headingley Deanery covers a diverse area extending from the centre of Leeds past two Universities and inner city Leeds out through suburban Leeds to the edge of the countryside.

Headingley Friday Support Group - meets every friday for almost two hours. It is for anyone who feels lonely and isolated and would like to meet others who experience similar feeling. It is open to anyone, and all those who turn up are welcomed with open arms.

Leeds and Moortown Furniture Store - Provides without charge, good quality recycled furniture and furnishings to socially and economically disadvantaged people in Leeds and surrounding areas.

Leeds Bereavement Forum - Committed to bringing those working with bereaved people together.

Leeds Carers Befriending Scheme - To alleviate some of the stress and social isolation felt by Carers by offering emotional support and a listening ear.

Leeds Development Education Centre - an educational charity that aims to raise awareness of global sustainable development issues with people in West Yorkshire.

Leeds Older People's Forum - The Leeds Older People's Forum was established in March 1994 and has grown to a citywide membership of 94 voluntary sector organisations working with older people.

Leeds Play Network - Advice and support for Playworkers in Leeds.

Leeds Voluntary Sector Learning Disabilities Forum - Promoting good practice and equal opportunities whilst supporting member organisations to work together, share information and promote the rights of people with learning disabilities. Encouraging active participation in strategic planning and development of local services. We identify accountable voluntary sector representatives to participate in Social Services, Health Authority and inter-agency planning. Facilitating the direct influence of people with a learning disabilities in the consultation and involvement process.

Leeds Voluntary Sector Mental Health Forum - The role of the Forum is to support and promote the voluntary sector contribution to mental health services, to encourage co-operation and partnerships between agencies and with statutory services, and to contribute the voluntary sector perspective to city wide developments and service philosophy.

Mentalwealth - Mental Wealth is a group of mental health workers and service users in Leeds who are planning to set up social firms for people with mental health problems.

Moor Allerton Elderly Care - Aims to improve the quality of life of local people over 60.

Morley Elderly Action - Supporting People Over 60 in the Greater Morley Area.

Multiple Choice - Multiple Choice is a community day programme providing a collaborative, structured experience aimed at assisting individuals resolve issues regarding their substance misuse.

Nari Ekta - Nari Ekta is an Asian Women's organisation funded by the Leeds City Council and European Social Fund. It was establised since 1985 to cater for the specific needs of Asian women.

Nari Ekta aims to develop skills training courses integrated with intensive language support for women who are socailly and educationally disadvantaged.

People in Action - Empowering people with learning disabilities through leisure and social activities.

Physical and Sensory Impairment Network - a network of groups of disabled people with physical and sensory impairment, and groups/ organisations providing services for disabled people with physical and sensory impairments.

South Leeds Elderly and Communtiy Group - An organisation set-up to provide facilities for the ethnic minority and wider community in South Leeds.

Women's Counselling and Therapy Service - WCTS supports the mental health and emotional well being of women living in Leeds, prioritising those on a limited income.

Yorkshire Schools Exploring Society - The Yorkshire Schools Exploring Society exists for the following reasons:-
To promote the personal development of young people through adventurous activities in wilderness areas.
To encourage young people to work together by participating in expeditions in the United Kingdom and overseas.
To increase environmental awareness .
To improve understanding of different cultures.
To demonstrate the benefits of physical exercise on mental and physical health.
